Always side-lyingor semi-reclined past 20 weeks. Never face-down.

We start with intake — trimester, due date, anything your OB or midwife has flagged. You're set up side-lying with bolsters under the belly, between the knees, and supporting the upper arm. Position is checked every fifteen minutes; rest breaks are offered, not requested. Pressure stays conservative — even when your back wants more, we're choosing safety over depth. If you feel anything off — light-headed, anxious, contractions — we stop, no negotiation. Most clients leave feeling the way the body is supposed to feel before sleep. That's the goal.

§ 30 · Who

Ideal for. Most healthy pregnancies, second tri onward.

Routine pregnancies in the second and third trimester, postpartum recovery after the four-week check, partners who want technique demos for labor support. First-trimester is welcomed with explicit provider clearance — many practitioners decline first-tri categorically; I take it case-by-case with documentation.

§ 31 · When not

Hold off if. The room can wait.

High-risk classification, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes flares, recent bleeding, severe nausea, or anything your provider has flagged for activity restriction. The booking will hold for owner pre-review on the conditions list — that's the system working as intended, not a delay.

Common questions. About prenatal specifically.

§ 32 · Ask
Is massage safe in pregnancy?
Routine pregnancies, second trimester onward, with proper positioning and conservative pressure — yes, and there's solid evidence it improves sleep, reduces back pain, and lowers cortisol. The risk is in untrained practitioners using techniques that aren't pregnancy-appropriate. I'm specifically trained in perinatal protocols.
What positioning do you use?
Side-lying with multiple bolsters — under the belly, between the knees, supporting the upper arm. Past twenty weeks I never use prone (face-down) positioning, and supine (face-up) only briefly with a wedge to avoid vena cava compression.
Can my partner come with me?
Yes — for labor-prep sessions especially. The partner technique demo is built into the 90-minute session if you'd like it. Just check the box at intake.
What about first trimester?
Case-by-case with provider clearance. Some practitioners decline first-tri categorically; I take a clearance note and a conservative protocol if your OB or midwife signs off.
How soon postpartum can I rebook?
Vaginal delivery: after the four-week check and your provider's clearance. C-section: usually six to eight weeks, with scar work delayed until full healing. Sooner if you're just looking for upper-back nursing-strain work, which doesn't involve the abdomen.
Insurance / FSA?
Some prenatal sessions are reimbursable through HSA/FSA with a provider note. I produce the superbill; your administrator handles the rest.
